(New Year’s News) Added a temporary high-speed rail for 25 hours to and from “90” and the train conductor Chen Yi: “Our efforts are worthwhile”
Chinanews.com, Shanghai, January 20th (Reporter Yin Liqin) The 2023 Spring Festival Transport has already been “spring tide surging” on the land of China. This year, the passenger flow during the Spring Festival has increased sharply, and the flow of people across regions has accelerated. During the Spring Festival travel season, the passenger flow is mainly to visit relatives and migrant workers, and the railway has added a number of temporary trains to ensure that the majority of passengers can return home smoothly.

At 3:40 a.m. on January 19, Chen Yi, the train conductor of the Shanghai Passenger Depot High School Team of China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd., led the conductors to wait for the arrival of the G4067 temporary high-speed train at platform 6 of Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station.
Chengdu has always been the direction of relatively concentrated passenger flow during the Spring Festival travel season in Shanghai. This temporary high-speed rail train from Shanghai Hongqiao to Chengdu East runs for 12 hours and 10 minutes one way, and the return journey arrives at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station at 5:37 a.m. on January 20. This also means that the conductor will spend more than 25 hours a day and a night in the carriage.

“All our conductors gathered for a preparatory meeting on the night of January 18, and it was already 23:00 when we could sleep. Due to the need for makeup, our earliest conductors got up at 2 am.” Chen Yi, who was busy in the carriage, was not at all Like someone who only slept for three hours. Inspecting the safety of the carriages, reminding passengers to wear masks in time, and checking the safety of equipment in the carriages are the full-time duties of this “post-90s” train conductor. When the train arrived at Chengdu East Railway Station, it was already sunset, and the distance between the 1193 passengers and their homes was getting closer and closer.

On the way back to Shanghai with an empty train, the reporter saw that Chen Yi still strictly required her conductor to inspect the carriages every hour, and carried out inspections of carriage equipment from time to time, and she even walked in the carriages over and over again.

“Our efforts are worthwhile, because we understand everyone’s longing for their hometown and the urgency to go home. Under the premise of ensuring safe operation, it doesn’t matter if we work hard or tired.” Chen Yi told reporters.

It is understood that in order to facilitate the travel of passengers, on the basis of epidemic prevention and control, railway departments across the country scientifically arrange and organize transportation capacity. The railway department not only “guarantees” the number of additional trains for returning passengers, but also delivers the journey to their destination in a short period of time, so that every passenger can feel the convenience of returning home.

At night, high-speed rail trains are speeding on the double tracks, brightly lit cities flash past the train windows, and the prelude to 2023 full of hope and vitality has already begun. Like Chen Yi, many railway people hope to make the return home of hundreds of millions of people more convenient and calm with their dedicated services. (Finish)
