Tesla owners in cities across China are protesting the electric carmaker’s price cuts, clouding the company’s efforts to revive sales in the world’s largest electric car market.
Tesla announced price cuts for the Model 3 and Model Y on Friday, to 229,900 yuan ($34,000) and 259,000 yuan, respectively. The automaker had previously cut prices last October.
According to people who participated in the protests, the price cut prompted Tesla owners to protest in Shanghai, Wuhan and Shenzhen over the weekend.
