Previously, when Tianjin Post Office Customs inspected an outbound mail that was hit by the risk control system and declared as “daily necessities and toys”, it found that its machine inspection image showed metal and ceramic products of various specifications, which obviously did not match the declared product name. After unpacking and inspection, the actual contents of the mail were 40 pieces of old bronze and porcelain, which were suspected cultural relics. According to the appraisal of the Tianjin Cultural Heritage Protection Center, among the seized items are 1 Song Dynasty bronze Bodhisattva statue, 1 Ming Dynasty bronze mirror with Pan-虺 pattern, 3 cultural relics from the 17th and 18th centuries, and 2 cultural relics from the Republic of China, a total of 7 pieces.
